Candy Cane spinner
« on: June 12, 2012, 07:00:48 PM »
Not a cut out, but.....

I just finished a candy cane spinner. I used a center hub made from a 2x8 and drilled 16 holes along the centerline. Inside the holes is 1/2" plastic electrical conduit, about 3" long. I cut a slit in them about half way down and drilled a hole. This is where the wire will feed thru. The canes slip over the conduit nice and snug. The light wire is feed thru the hole. I'm using a common neutral, Molex connectors and sprinkler wire. Each cane only draws about .1A, so no issues. The mount will be a 1/2' metal conduit, attached to the back of the hub and slid over a long piece of rebar, some guys to hold in place.

That hub design looks familiar ;)

How large is the central disc (not counting the PVC)?
